The reign of King Henry I was 1100 to 1135

1068: Born in 1068 - the exact date of birth unknown. He was the fourth son of William the Conqueror and his mother was Queen Matilda of Flanders

1100: Crowned on 5 August 1100 at Westminster

1100 11th November: He married Edith, the daughter of Malcolm Greathead, King of Scotland. She was known as either Matilda or Maude. they had two children William Adelin and Maude (Latin name was Matilda)

1101 July: The Treaty of Alton. Robert Duke of Normandy landed at Portsmouth. He and Henry signed a treaty where Robert gave up his claim to the throne of England in return for 3,000 marks a year.

1106: Robert Curthose, William the Conqueror's eldest son and brother to Henry I, led a rebellion against Henry but was defeated and incarcerated by his brother

1114 January: Matilda, the daughter of Henry I is married to Emperor Henry V

1118 May 1: Queen Maude died at the Palace of Westminster

1118: The Knights Templar order was founded in Jerusalem. Hugh de Payens was chosen by the knights as the first master of the order

1120: William Adelin, the son of King Henry I died on 25 November 1120

1121 29 January: King Henry I, Beauclerc, married Adeliza, daughter of Godfrey I of Leuven, there were no children from this marriage

1126 December: Henry holds a council at Woodstock

1134: Robert Curthose, William the Conqueror's eldest son and brother to Henry I, died in captivity in Cardiff Castle

1135 December: King Henry I, Beauclerc, died at St. Denis le Fermont in Normandy.
